Gerald R. Sherratt Library Sidewalk ADA Accessibility

Southern Utah University’s Gerald R. Sherratt Library is a major connection hub for students, but its sidewalks were not ADA compliant. Watson Engineering worked with Mesa Consulting to demolish and remove existing sidewalks, creating an ADA-accessible pathway. The new sidewalk design ensured the underground utility tunnels—which provide communication, heat transfer, and power—were undisturbed. Our elevation measurements had to be precise; we made sure to gather all information possible so that final design would match grades and elevations for easier transitions.
