Meet the Team: Trevor Watson

Field and Lab Technician Trevor Watson’s energy and engaging personality are infectious. His passion for his job is evident in the way he describes his contributions at Watson Engineering. Still new to the team, Trevor began with Watson in 2018 before leaving to serve on a mission for his church for two years. When he returned, he picked up right where he left off.

“I love the culture here,” Trevor said. “Everyone has really high expectations of one another and the quality of work we produce.”

With a love for getting his hands dirty, Trevor says a typical day for him involves working in the lab, running tests on soil for density, or working with dirt out in the field. “When I’m working in the lab, I take samples from specific job sites, split them, and run tests on the soil,” Trevor said. “When I’m out in the field, the nuclear gauge is my go-to tool for testing different soils to determine the density.”

Trevor’s favorite aspect of his job is knowing that the work he does is the foundation for everything else a new home will involve. He enjoys collaborating with contractors to find solutions to make a project work. “It fascinates me, seeing how different soils react in different ways, from specific regions,” Trevor said.

While being an expert at getting to play with dirt for a living is an enviable skill, also noted are Trevor’s passion for all things with a motor and tires, and having a perfect singing pitch!
