Watson Engineering provided structural engineering design for a residential cabin built out of real wood logs. Designing for a natural material like wood is one of Watson Engineering’s specialties. Engineering for settlement and shrinkage of the log walls involves preparing for a range of possible movement. The structural design took into account the height of walls and trusses by using steel brackets to adjust for settlement.

In addition to surveying, Watson Engineering provided civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering services.
